  • Product Description

This is a detailed account, based in part on interviews with key participants of the secret negotiations in Oslo, which led to Israeli recognition of the Palestine Liberation Organization and to the creation of an autonomous Palestinian territory. The case is meant to stimulate discussion of the factors which allowed the parties to agree to negotiations, allowed negotiations to survive setbacks and obstacles, and which ultimately led to an outcome considered successful. In addition to its use as a vehicle for discussion about the dynamics of the negotiations process including its various stages and preconditions the case will be of interest to Middle East scholars and experts because of its use of candid interviews with both Israeli and Palestinian participants.
